Objectives:
The objective of the Translation and Proofreading Team is to provide high-quality language support for the academic community of Poznan University of Technology. The unit supports researchers, teachers, and doctoral students in preparing and publishing academic texts, teaching materials, and documents of a scientific, technical, and promotional nature. The unit's activities are addressed primarily to university employees and doctoral students who need professional translation, language editing, or consultation on language correctness and academic style, especially in the context of international publications and scientific cooperation with foreign partners.
Tasks:
- providing written translation of academic, technical, legal, economic, promotional, and general texts;
- carrying out linguistic and substantive editing of academic, technical, and teaching texts in Polish and foreign languages;
- providing language consultations concerning correctness, academic style, specialist terminology, and preparation of texts for publication in international academic journals;
- providing interpreting - simultaneous and consecutive - during academic conferences, seminars, academic meetings, and other events organized by the university;
- supporting the university's academic, teaching, and organizational activities through comprehensive language services.
Projects and initiatives:
- in the 2025/2026 academic year, the unit provided translations of current documents for the needs of Poznan University of Technology and the Centre of Languages and Communication;
- as part of the unit's activities, translations of documents were also prepared for the needs of The National English Language Olympiad for Technical University Students;
- the unit also provided interpreting support related to the meeting of students and pupils with Dr Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski.
