Objectives:

The Innovative Education Team (PIE) was established in September 2023 in response to the challenges of the rapidly changing world of education and the need to support modern teaching at the Centre of Languages and Communication at Poznan University of Technology. The unit's activities are addressed primarily to CLC staff, as well as to employees of other units of Poznan University of Technology interested in developing teaching competences and implementing innovative solutions in education.
The aim of the team is to improve the quality of teaching by disseminating modern teaching methods, educational technologies, and solutions that support active learning, teamwork, and student engagement. The unit supports the development of the teaching competences of academic teachers and creates a space for exchanging experience and seeking effective solutions that respond to the needs of contemporary students.

Tasks:

• organization of peer-to-peer training sessions and workshops on Training Tuesdays, during which CLC staff share their teaching knowledge and experience;
• providing methodological consultations for CLC staff;
• participation in conferences and seminars on teaching and learning methodologies;
• cooperation with experts in educational innovation;
• preparation of materials supporting academic teachers, available on the e-Kursy platform;
• dissemination of modern teaching methods and educational technologies;
• providing support for initiatives promoting active learning, teamwork, and student engagement.

Projects and initiatives:

• training sessions and workshops devoted to Flip Blended Learning, transversal competences, and the use of tools such as Miro, Edpuzzle, Mentimeter, and NotebookLM (workshops for CLC staff and staff of other PUT faculties, workshops for EUNICE and Sermo members - meeting at PUT in 2024);
• initiating projects supporting staff development, such as "Peer Lesson Observation at CLC";
• presenting the results of the unit's work at national and international events (the Polish Association of Modern Languages and IATEFL conferences).
