Objectives:
The aim of the unit is to develop foreign language proficiency (English or German), with particular emphasis on fluent communication in a professional context. The unit also supports the development of spoken communication competence and the acquisition and improvement of practical soft skills in a foreign language, such as relationship-building, conducting meetings, or public speaking. Courses and workshops based on the communicative method are offered to students and staff of Poznan University of Technology, as well as to representatives of the other EUNICE partner universities.
Tasks:
- conducting courses focused on professional communication;
- organizing workshops developing soft skills;
- supporting participants in the development of communication competences.
Projects and initiatives:
- a series of courses entitled "Communication in a Multicultural Environment in Dean's Offices and Faculties at Poznan University of Technology" carried out within the NAWA project "Developing Communication and Language Skills in English in the Academic Environment of Poznan University of Technology";
- the course "The Power of Small Talk in Business Communication" for students of Poznan University of Technology and the other EUNICE partner universities, delivered within the EUNICE4U project;
- development of a B2-level e-textbook on conducting informal meetings within the NAWA project "Cooperation and Education within the EUNICE Alliance";
- delivery of the courses "Informal Meetings in English" in on-site and online formats based on the above teaching materials;
- development of modern teaching materials for a summer school leading to the award of micro-credentials - Soft Skills Workshop at B1+/B2 level, within the NAWA project "Cooperation and Education within the EUNICE Alliance".
