The Engineering Era Project was implemented at Poznan University of Technology between 2008 and 2012. It was financed from the European Social Fund of the European Union. The main objective of the project was to adjust higher education to the needs of the modern economy, especially to the needs of the labour market, and to improve the quality of education at Poznan University of Technology.
One of the tasks implemented under the "Engineering Era” project was the development of curricula and didactic materials, and the implementation of training programs using e-learning methods and techniques.
As part of the project, CLC staff prepared 13 courses in the field of technical language. At the same time, the following activities took place in CLC:
• Moodle installation – the installation of an "open-source” web-based platform dedicated to the process of distance learning;
• The development of a series of online courses in English and German by the CLC staff for students of other Technical Universities. The course subjects included: the development of soft skills and issues of health and safety at work;
• The development of English virtual courses: English for Specific Purposes for the following faculties: Mechatronics, Air Transport and Power Engineering, available on the Moodle platform;
• The development and implementation of soft skills courses in English, German and French (Soft Skills – workshops on developing soft skills necessary in the labour market).
