Orientation Week

Traditionally, at the end of September, Centre of Languages and Communication organized Orientaion Week. The event is addressed to international students who came to study at our university and want to take advantage of a wide range of different technical fields. This fall, over 100 people attended Orientation Week, mainly Erasmus and Erasmus+ exchange students.
During the event, in addition to organizational matters, students had the opportunity to become familiar with Polish culture and Polish language, and take part in a trip around Poznan. They participated in lectures, multimedia presentations, workshops and quizzes. The topics concerned intercultural differences, European business culture, Polish geography and history, tourist attractions, as well as an introduction to the Polish language.
In addition, many students took part in a tour around Poznan, thanks to which they saw the Old Market Square and the surrounding area, the exhibitions in the National Museum of the city of Poznan and in the Museum of Applied Arts in the Royal Castle at the Przemysl Hill. They also tried the local specialty: Poznan’s St. Martin's croissants, which surprised them with their size and unique taste.
Due to the wonderful weather, everyone had a great time and the walking tour lasted longer than usual. Everyone was enjoying the sun.
The program of lectures, workshops and trips was prepared and conducted by the Polish language team from the Center of Languages and Communication, composed of the following people: Małgorzata Konopko, M.A., Justyna Połomka, M.A., Agnieszka Rutkowska, M.A. and Barbara Tarko M.A.
Now students are looking forward to their Polish classes.
